Pick you up for driving lessons?

I found only 1 driving school @ Sears in the Golden Triangle Mall, & they said the driving practice is for 2 hrs., & they won’t allow me to take 1 hr. for 1/2 the price. I’m on a fixed income.
Yes, I passed the written part.

What driving schools are there that can teach me how to drive stick shift?

I need to learn how to drive a stick shift car and I was wondering where there would be a good place to learn that is near Hacienda Heights, California. I want to take the driving lessons for a stick shift car. Thanks.

do driving schools have a certain number of hours for practicing driving on the road that I have to purchase ?

or can I just pick the number of hours I want to pay them for ?

I have already taken the classroom part.

I need to take the driving lessons part on the road at a different driving school than the one I had the classroom lessons in.

Hmm.. Car or Motorbike?

I have enough money left over from my last job to either pay out for a crash course of driving lessons or pay for my motorbike test and get a motorbike. What is better for someone in my situation? I have lost my job and car insurance for an 18 year old is sky high, i would prefer a car but a motorbike is alot cheaper and i need a way of getting around, i’m more than likely going back to college in september as looking for work is getting rediculous. help!?

How can I convince my overprotective mother to let me go see a friend?

I’m 17, turning 18 in July. I live in London and my friend lives in Scotland (Southern part). I am in full time employment, am part of my local Police Cadet group and aspire to be a Police Officer. I’m also taking my driving lessons now.

I want to go see my friend (female) in Scotland VERY badly, as we’re like brother and sister. My friend’s parents have agreed to let me come up to stay for 10 days as long as my mum agrees – however, before she’s even given it thought – as far as I’m concerned – she’s said no almost immediately! Her parents have even said they’ll talk to her, but she keeps saying no and she won’t even speak to her parents.

When I ask her why she says no, she gives me the "I shouldn’t need to explain myself to you" lecture, and it REALLY does my head up the wall, because she gives me the whole "While living under my roof, you live by my rules" crap. So far every time I ask to do something important she automatically intervenes and says no, and this is the worst so far.

But it infuriates me that she will not let me grow up, learn the hard way and stop mollycoddling me! It’s just so annoying. I know she does it out of love and all, but it’s just so annoying. She speaks out and voices her opinion on every girl I’ve been out with so far – not many, believe me – and intervenes on all aspects of my life, and I’ve gotten fed up with her running it – I feel that is what she is doing. My dad is trying to persuade her and I’ve tried, I’ve tried reasoning with her and I’ve tried being flexible, but she is so stubborn and refuses to let me go see my friend!

Now, all of this hatred for Scotland stems from a TV program about Glasgow, saying that it has the highest stabbing and shooting rate and the rest of the moulded crap that the media likes to bring to our screens.

But the general idea is: How can I convince her to stop treating me like a child, let me get on with my life and make my OWN choices? Because I am out of ideas. She won’t talk to my friends parents, won’t allow me to go see her, and rules my life for me. Considering everything that I’ve got going for me in the first paragraph of this question, it just begs the question as to why she’s being like this considering she’s letting me do everything else.
She approves of my friend coming down here, yet her mother doesn’t approve of it. It’s a never-ending cycle, I’m sure. And how can I show her I’m mature when I don’t have anything I can show? I don’t smoke, drink, do drugs, sleep around, go clubbing, I don’t do anything like a "Friday night boozer" would! I attend work every day, do my chores – perhaps not as soon as I’m told, but they do get done – don’t go against her rules and am prompt in almost everything I do. What else can I do that I can use to show her I AM in fact mature? As far as I’m concerned, I am, but obviously people see that differently in regards to the comments I’ve had back.

And considering her, I don’t think it will get easier until I’m living alone. Her parents are giving me a bed and a roof over y head and food in my belly – not like I’m gonna be out on the streets all night! I’m more streetwise and knowledgable than that.
