Hi! i am 16 years 10 months old, and i was thinking whether i should go ahead and take the required driver’s education class or should i wait till i turn 17 and just not take it? Are there any benefits to taking the driver’s education class (like in insurance discount or something) because it does cost a lot to take the class.. what should i do?

my dad is hiring a driving instructor to teach me for 40$ for 1 hour…is it too pricy or cheap…i think is expensive..how much does it usually cost?

What does highschool drivers education classes teach? Is it the same as an online class? Do you get behind the wheel experience?

I want to know because i have signed up to take one at school, but i already completed an online course.
is it a two-term class?

What information do you think would be essential to include in a drivers education class???

Im learning in an automatic, and my test is tomorow. My instructor just called and his car cannot be used as it has a fault. Ive got my own car, but Ive only had it a couple of weeks and im not 100% in it yet. for the following reasons:

1. Its a little smart car and does not “Creep” because of this if I drive using just my right foot, as Ive been taught, I tend to roll back a little before pulling away between me taking my foot off the break and applying the accelorator. To combat this Ive been using my left foot for breaking and the right for accellorating and Ive got really good control like this. Is this an issue for my test?

2. Ive been taught that when stopping at traffic lights I should put the handbrake on and go into neutral. In my car, Ive got a triptonic gearbox, if I go into neutral it cancels the automatic and delays pulling away if I leave it until the lights start to change. When driving my own car Ive not bothered going into neutral. Is this a problem for my test?

Hey guys, I couldn’t find any information on this topic online or on Maine’s website. I’m going to be turning 18 in five months and I wanted to know if you could go for your license at 18 without having any previous driver’s education classes. I know that you would still have to take a driving test and pass, but is it possible to just go and get your license after turning 18? I realize that my insurance will be higher then most but I would have to wait even longer to be able to drive if I started driver’s education right now. Plus I already know how to drive.

I began my driving lessons in january 2008, I continued and took multiple tests with the same instructor until April 2009 when I decided to take a break from my lessons. I spoke to a friend who referred me to another instructor, who I am now learning with, he has told me that my previous instructor was only a trainee instructor, apparently legally they are allowed to teach, but he never told me he was not fully qualified and still charged me £22 a lesson! I feel cheated considering how much money I spent on my lessons and tests with him! I guess my question is: is this ok? Are the meant to tell their pupils? He was never the best instructor, he was always texting and answered calls during my lessons, he actually took me to his house on multiple occasions so he could pop in and I had to sit and wait outside! I would just like to know your thoughts.
